The Call to Practice #2
In the second episode I read an essay from the back matter of Kafka’s Metamorphosis – Wilhelm Emrich – The Animal as Liberating Self – Modern Alienation and it’s Law. It was a great stumbling around at night that led to it, and appears to be a major improvement in the program. I’ve collected several large boxes of classics over the years — for my own absorption, but also to look for quotes to include in the manuscript (as chapter breaks). Many great works were never utilized, and the tiny quotes I used were only a glimpse into these important works. The podcast is a great opportunity to expand on this and give further detail to the Revolution manuscript. Having said that, the show was badly edited at first, as I left in a couple of repeats and extraneous matter — and no editor to fire. Also, there was a garbled transcode on the initial upload, and I failed to include a jpeg instead of a png as a cover image. Forgive this if you received multiple itunes iterations, but the thing was finally ferreted out and, alas, i’ve been somewhat toughened and have learned how to put these together seamlessly for the future.
The bumper music was from the Blonde Redhead album La Mia Vita Voilenta — Jewel.
